Tory Lanez Wasn’t With That

Colorism in the black community is real. Colorism between dark and light skin black people in America has been going on since slavery. It stems from the slave master’s preference for the fair skinned black woman and to this day, colorism still affects black people. Many dark and light skin people are faced with self-esteem issues because of their shade of blackness. Throughout the world, fairer skin complexions are almost always more desirable.

Canadian rapper Tory Lanez is aware of colorism and we can tell you, he’s not feeling it. While shooting a music video, the director swaps out the dark skin model for a light skin model and Tory Lanez was not with it. He gave the director a piece of his mind.
