Delonte West Says Sleeping With Lebron’s Mama Ruined His NBA Career and Ultimately His Life
Back in 2010, Lebron James and Delonte West were teammates for the Cleveland Cavaliers when rumors began to circulate about West and Lebron’s mother Gloria. It was rumored that West and Gloria and an intimate encounter, a time or two. During the playoffs against the Boston Celtics, specifically just moments before game 4, is when Lebron found out about the relationship between his mother and teammate.
After the revelation about the relationship between Delonte West and Gloria James, it is safe to say, the teams chemistry was ruined and with all the tension in the locker room, Lebron decided to take his talents to South Beach, where he won two championship with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. West eventually confirmed the rumors as true in a subliminal way.
Fast forward almost ten years later, most fans have forgotten about Delonte West smashing Lebron’s mother except for one person- Delonte West. Shortly after West’s brief encounter with Lebron’s mother, West was traded around the NBA and eventually found himself homeless in Dallas and also diagnosed as bi-polar. Although West made $16 million in his NBA career, according to him, he squandered the money and is now dead broke. Here’s what Delonte West had to say when we caught up with him:
“Life has not been the same for me. Once upon a time, I was playing in the NBA and I was making millions but one mistake changed my entire life. Sleeping with my teammate’s mother, I’m sure you’ve heard, ruined my NBA career. When Lebron doesn’t get his way, the front office, they do whatever it takes to please him. So imagine me, taking his mama down, imagine what the NBA has done to me. All because of Lebron. If I could turn back the hands of time, I wouldn’t have smashed her. Now, I can’t take care of my kids, I can’t even take care of myself. Sleeping with Lebron’s mama ruined my NBA career and ultimately ruined my life”
Says the former NBA player. As of now, West claims he has about $25 to his name and he sleeps under bridges in Dallas from time to time when he can’t get into a shelter. He hopes to turn his life around and he says that he is leaving it in the hands of Jesus Christ, his Lord and savior.
